Abzu length11/10/2022 This is one of those games that doesn't take long to complete and is maybe even best played through in one sitting. It does make you think about how vulnerable an eco-system like this is. The abundant sea life around you is made to feel ever so fragile, especially as you come into contact with something more sinister that threatens their peaceful existence. It could be interpreted that the game has a subtle environmental message. The whole atmosphere of it actually reminded me a bit of Disney's Fantasia. I love the concept of a lost, sunken city deep under the ocean just waiting to be discovered! There is already something so alien about deep ocean life with its strange, bioluminescent creatures- but ancient civilisations too? So good! As you explore, you start to uncover the remnants of a strange ancient civilization!Īnd there's that feeling of something darker lurking there, which keeps you wanting to delve further and further. The whales! There is something particularly moving about swimming alongside such majestic and peaceful creatures, even if it is just in a game!ĪBZU has another similarity to the game Journey, in that there's more to this colourful environment than immediately meets the eye. I loved being able to grab hold and ride along with larger fish, or turtles and dolphins. It's magical, isn't it? Just swimming around and exploring. And the whole time you're surrounded by all sorts of sea life- it's totally mesmerizing. Each new cavernous chamber you visit is absolutely breathtaking. You take control of a small figure, in this case a diver, who seeks to explore the ocean and its inhabitants. Yeah, the art style and design is instantly familiar. While the game moves ahead, the gamer has an analog controller to control and interact with the marine surroundings and solve the problems and challenges that arise in his/her gaming journey.Okay you guys, it's time to dive down to uncover the secrets of the deep in ABZU!ĪBZU is from a new studio called Giant Squid, and the mind of art director Matt Nava, who also worked on the games Journey and Flower.Īnd while this isn't about surfing sand dunes or floating as a petal on the wind, the connections with those game are still easy to make. However, if you are a beginner it may take you more than 3 hours but lesser than 4 hours to navigate through the waters of the game. A person who is at an advanced level of gaming can easily complete the game in less than 2 hours while the intermediate ones may take 2-3 hours. The average time concluded by the gaming experts has been found to be 2 hours. The sections are non-repetitive and the game does not stick at a fixed area of challenge for a longer time. The game has no fillers and thus has a short length. Nava’s love for scuba diving and underwater adventures. The diver(gamer) and the white shark swim together throughout the game, and in the end, the former kills the latter to preserve the pyramid and bring the marine life of the ocean back. There are minor adventures like exposure to the shark, restoring the life of the diver in the ocean, and reach the pyramid to bring the life of the ocean back. The player has to dive into a huge ocean in the game. The game has no deaths and lives, just adventures like Mario games, etc. Why Does it Take That Long?Ībzu is created with the purpose of leisure. Along with the under-water animations that seem real, the sound effects match the exact intensity of sound produced by various animals living under-water. It is an easy-going game that may excite your free time if you are willing to give it a shot. Rather than saying it a game, it would be more suitable to call the experience a virtual ocean ride with amazing audio-visual effects. We can say that it is a linear adaptation of the games from the decade of 1990. The game is not that large to keep the gamer occupied for numerous hours. The duration to complete the game is found to be 2 hours on average which may extend up to an hour more. The player becomes the diver and completes the natural challenges that may occur underwater in the real world. There are no rival characters in the game like other games. It can be searched on the PlayStation Store for download. The game is not available on a disc, it is needed to be downloaded. The surroundings of the ocean are not manipulated and are designed similarly to the real world. It has the tiniest of fishes to largest whales and water-based flora. The water is full of fishes and water animals. The game provides an ambiance of the underwater world. How Long Does it Take to Beat Abzu?
